Skeet Shooting RSVP Website: Squad Stations, a Shooter or Spectator Line, and a Locked Shell Count

A skeet shooting RSVP has to lock a station on a squad and whether that person will shoot or only watch before the range throws targets, because a maybe does not hold a station.

Skeet Shooting RSVP Website: Squad Stations, a Shooter or Spectator Line, and a Locked Shell Count

A skeet round breaks when the range set five shooters on a squad and seven people walk onto the pad with shotguns, or when the ammo cage sold rounds for the names you locked and two extra people expect a box. Stations, eye and ear protection, and the shell count are set before the first target is thrown. The trap does not throw a second squad because a friend decided to shoot after the safety briefing started. A maybe does not hold a station.

You can create a skeet shooting RSVP that fills the stations the range will run, splits people who will shoot from people who will only watch, and stops when that squad is full.

Ask what this range will actually run

Call the range before you send the link. Write down how many shooters are on one squad, how many squads they will give your group, how many targets are in a round, whether guns are rented or brought, and what time the safety briefing starts. Those numbers are your cap. Do not guess from a photo of an empty field.

A station is one shooter at one pad for that round. A spectator behind the fence is not a station. Ask whether a non-shooter pays a gate fee, needs the same waiver, or can wait in the clubhouse. Pick one rule and write it on the page. If the range will not allow spectators on the field side of the line, say that. A person who came to watch should not be standing on a pad.

Ask the price per round, whether shells are included, and the last time you can cut the squad without paying for a reserved field. If the range charges for a no-show after that time, print that rule on the page. If they sell the only shells they accept, say that people cannot bring a box from home.

Set a capacity limit on people who will shoot, and a separate limit only if the range also caps guests in the waiting area. When the last station is taken, the form should say the squad is full. A friend who might come still needs a pad, a gun the range agreed to, and a counted box of shells. If the squad is full, they are not in this round.

Shooter, spectator, and the gear the range requires

Ask each person to pick one line:

Shooting means they will stand a station, complete the safety briefing, and use a gun and shells the range has already counted

Watching only means they stay where the range says spectators stand, and only if you confirmed that is allowed

Not attending is a no, not a maybe that holds a pad until the trap starts

Ask shooters whether they need a rental gun or will bring a gun the range already approved, and which gauge. A rental pool of four guns is full at four even if the squad has a fifth station. Say that on the page. If someone must be a certain age to shoot, or must be with an adult the range names, print that age rule.

Eye and ear protection is part of the headcount, not a suggestion at the door. Ask whether each shooter has their own or needs a loaner set from the clubhouse. Cap loaners at the number the range will hand out. Write the closed-toe shoe rule if the range has one. The form is for a station, a gun source, and a shell count.

Weather and a person to call

An outdoor range stops for lightning, and some stop for wind that throws targets off the field. Put a weather cutoff on the page: who checks the radar, what time they decide, and how a cancelled squad is told. A rain date is a new squad, not the same pads.

Collect an emergency contact for every shooter: a name and a phone that is not standing on the same squad. The range may already require this on a waiver. Your page should have it before you drive out, so you are not collecting it on the pad while the briefing waits. You do not need medical history. You need a person to call if the range asks for one.

The minute the briefing starts

The meeting point is the range office, not the first station. Put the street address, where to park, and the check-in time on the page. Late shooters do not get a private briefing after the squad is on the pads. If the range will not add them mid-round, say that. They needed a station before the cap closed.

If you allow a guest, that person needs their own shooter-or-spectator answer, their own gun line, and their own emergency contact. One form that hides an extra shooter will put six people on a five-station squad and short the ammo cage. Say that a yes is one person.

Tie your RSVP deadline to the range's lock for squads, rentals, and shells. After that, a late yes is a call about a cancellation, not a promise of another station. If you want names ready when someone drops, keep them as standbys and tell them they do not have a pad until you write back. A maybe does not hold a station.

Export the list the day you lock: attending or not, shooting or watching, rental or own gun, gauge, loaner eye and ear protection, emergency contact, phone, and the age rule you published. A skeet shooting RSVP is finished when every station has one shooter, the shell count matches that list, and the range can start the briefing without rebuilding your squad on the pad.
